Succession Storey: Next generation leader takes reins at Wichita Furniture

WICHITA, Kan. — Jordan Storey has been named president and CEO of four-store, family-owned

Storey, who served most recently served as executive vice president, takes over for his father, , who continues as the chairman of the company, which a , Furniture On Consignment and a pair of showrooms.

“Today I am excited to announce a pivotal time in our company. Effective immediately, Jordan Storey will be taking over the leadership role as president of Wichita Furniture Inc. and its subsidiaries including the local Ashley brand,” said Jay Storey. “Jordan’s journey in the furniture industry is deeply rooted in his upbringing. His passion for this industry has grown stronger over time.”

The elder Storey noted that Jordan Storey grew up in the business and has been directly involved since 2014, with degrees in business and sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

“Under Jordan’s leadership, we can anticipate fresh perspectives and innovative strategies that will propel Wichita Furniture Inc. towards sustained growth for many years to come,” Jay Storey said. “I have had the privilege of guiding this company for 35 years, and it is time to hand over the reins to the next generation. I have full confidence in Jordan’s abilities to steer us towards new horizons while maintaining our commitment to excellence.”

Jordan Storey said he’s excited about the opportunity to lead the family business moving forward.

“My commitment to servicing our customers and bringing the best experience during their furniture and mattress buying journey, is of my utmost priority,” he said. “We want to bring new styles and looks, at a great value, with our commitment to inventory and instant gratification.”

The younger Storey credited his father as helping prepare him for the road ahead.

“I have been in the industry my entire life and couldn’t have asked for a better mentor than Jay. He has taught me more about this industry and business, and I can’t thank him enough. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for him and the team I am surrounded with,” he said. “The future looks bright, and I can’t wait to continue our growth and servicing our guests and employees.
