They pointed out the need for color to keep a cohesive space.

HOW TO DO IT

The Redditor advised on how to do interior design and decorating right.

“The best way to do color in interior spaces is aim for a 70, 20, 10 palette,” they said.

“70 is your dominant color, typically a neutral, in your case I’d say it’s white, warm whites, and creamy neutrals.

“20 is your primary color, in your case it’ll likely be green thanks to the couch.

“Then 10 is your accent color, so from the two palettes you have, I’d choose one to pop off the green.

“So in your case, likely that orange or blue.”

They said that while they understand that simply hanging some portraits can help, there are better ways to design a space.

“That is not to say though that you can’t bring in those colors through your art,” they added.

“Art can and should be complementary to your color palette and add more colors to the room.

“But with furniture, walls, and textiles, I’d stick to your 70-20-10.”
