An old grocery store near the post office in Green Lake got a new lease on life as an interior design and gift shop.
Susan D’arcy opened the doors to her business, Johnson & Black, for an open house and ribbon cutting last week Friday. She showed off the renovations to the building, as well as the designer items and unique finds that are aimed at the discerning homeowner who wants to make a statement in their home’s decorations.
“I’m just so glad to get this store open,” she said just before the ribbon cutting ceremony. “It was rough.”
Nestled in the heart of downtown Green Lake at 493 Hill St., the business sits two doors away from the post office and across the street from Town Square. The shop was jumping last week Friday to celebrate the grand opening, offering upscale snacks provided by The Goose Blind and featured a ribbon cutting sponsored by the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Ray Radis was at the center of the line for the ribbon cutting, as was Green Lake Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mark Wilton. Wilton was accompanied by Green Lake Chamber of Commerce board president Kristen Hermanson, owner D’arcy and board member Christine Seno.
