SAN FRANCISCO — Based on searches from users, the summer of 2024 will be all about vibrant home décor and self-expression.
The era of the beige interiors is giving way to color and character, according to Pinterest’s Summer 2024 Report. Within the past year, for example, “whimsical décor” searches have risen more than 4,600%.
Other top searches in the home décor category include , which is up 280%. Within that sector, some of the surging search terms include pastel desk (up nearly 9,000%), grandma core bedroom (up more than 2,600%) and (up nearly 1,000%).
Also trending for summer are terms associated with movie director and writer Nancy Meyers, who is being called out for the cozy and comfy homes she has created in movies such as “Something’s Gotta Give” and “The Holiday.” Top searches related to include Nancy Meyers living room and Nancy Meyers homes, both up more than 2,000%.
Anything related to vintage is popular as well, with searches rising for vintage eclectic home as well as tea sets vintage, vintage plates on wall and vintage dinnerware.
This is likely tied to the tea party trend, which coincides with the new season of the Netflix show “Bridgerton,” set in England’s Regency period. Searches for Bridgerton tea party are up more than 400% year-over-year.
