A specialist landscaping company has been sold as a going concern to a third party in a deal which saves 34 jobs.

AC Landscapes and Treeworks UK Ltd has been acquired by an unconnected third party enabling it to fulfil its existing contracts.

Begbies Traynor has confirmed the deal after Gary Lee and Paul Stanley, who are both based at its Manchester office, were appointed as joint administrators of the business on Friday (14 June).

Established in 2007, AC Landscapes and Treeworks provides vegetation management, landscaping, and arboricultural consultancy services across the UK’s strategic highways and electricity distribution sectors.

The £4m turnover company operates across the North West, North East, Midlands and the South West and holds a number of strategic, long-term frameworks with National Highways.

Gary Lee, partner at Begbies Traynor in Manchester, said: “We are pleased to confirm the completion of the sale of the business and its assets as a going concern which provides continuity for the customers and all the staff.

“The acquisition is an excellent strategic fit for the purchaser expanding its existing presence in the strategic highways sector and providing additional capability to support the water sector with the implementation of nature-based solutions.”
